Providing a series of free classes, support groups and workshops
to women over 40 running from 18th Oct – 30th Nov

Many of us are dealing with loneliness as a result of the pandemic or the feelings we had before have only been exacerbated by Covid-19. From quarantine isolation to the loss of loved ones, we now find ourselves struggling to piece our lives back together again.

For women aged 40 and beyond this can be an extremely difficult time of life as many are navigating menopause, children leaving home, loss of parents and other significant losses which can leave women in the second half of life feeling isolated and deeply lonely. Even with company we can often feel lonely in our own world.

Calm Collective are proud to be partnering with Future Communities Local Connections Fund to provide a series of free classes, support groups and workshops for women 40+ who are feeling lonely.

Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness are very well known for their physical and mental health benefits. As a way of combating loneliness, these tools can reinforce positivity and offer us a path to accepting our feelings without judgment helping us to process them and move on.

Through yogic breathing and mindful movement, we can retrain the nervous system to feel calm and at ease so we can be fully present.

All of these tools teach us to be patient, kind and more compassionate to ourselves in times of loneliness and in turn help us to support and take care of each other.

Yoga teaches us to be resourceful and more importantly, we cultivate the strength and wisdom to appreciate it is ok to not be ok.

CLASSES

Based on the Yogic philosophy of Pratyahara (Pratyahara practices lead to a profound state of relaxation, expanded self-awareness, and inner stability) to help us master both the body and the mind.

The session is suitable for all levels, including beginners and will feature gentle movement, meditation, and relaxation.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Join us for an open discussion around loneliness and feelings of isolation. In these free support groups we will come together and learn how to reach out to others, expanding your network of likeminded women and creating a sense of solidarity

WORKSHOPS

These workshops will be a blend of group discussion, movement, meditation & relaxation.
