Frequently Asked Questions


What do I wear to a yoga class? Clothes you can easily and comfortably move in. You  can also bring something warm for final relaxation as body temperature drops when relaxed, a cardigan or small blanket will suffice.
As our classes involve some inversions it is sometimes more comfortable to wear a tight vest top under your top to protect your modesty, as more often then not a baggy t-shirt will rise. We also ask that our male students please wear underwear underneath your shorts.
Do I need to bring anything with me? We have yoga mats and blocks but if you have your own mat you are welcome to bring it along
Are you wheelchair accessible? Yes we are! We have a wheelchair accessible entrance at the street entrance, and also an accessible bathroom.
Do you have parking? We have parking via Old Farm Road Ave. at the rear of the studio.
Is there a minimum age requirement for Yoga?

For our classes we allow anyone over the age of 12 to join us, but must be supervised by a parent or guardian aged 17 and over.
You can bring along anyone aged between 12-16 for a discounted price of only £8. All you need to do is book a space for yourself via our website and email us at hello@calmcollective.com to reserve your second space. Payment by cash or card on arrival for your plus 1.

We also offer Kids & Teen Yoga at the studio up to age 16.

Do you have showers? We have one shower that is free to use, however we do ask for 50p to rent a towel, but you are more than welcome to bring your own.
Do I need to be flexible? NO! You come to yoga to become flexible 🙂 Yoga creates strength, flexibility and balance – you need not have any of those when you start yoga
Can I eat dinner before I come to class?
It is recommended your last meal is at least 2hrs prior to class. You may eat a small snack before class to ensure your energy levels are good, please do not leave hours before a bite to eat and class as you may run out of energy!! Grab a banana or smoothie before class
Am I eligible for concession discounts? If you are a student, OAP, NHS staff, LFB staff or Met Police staff you are eligible for discounts.
How do I get my concession discounts? You must email your relevant I.D to hello@calmcollective.com once you have created your account. Once you have the concession rates applied to your account you will have an automatic discount applied at checkout.
 What if I need to cancel my class?

If you cannot attend a class you must cancel 3 hours before the class starts or you will be charged. If you do not turn up to a class you will still be charged for the class you did not attend.

To cancel your class, visit the “my account” section on the schedule page of the website.

What do I need to bring to a Hot Yoga class?

It is important to bring a towel to Hot Yoga, if you do not have a towel, one can be provided for you for the cost of £1

It is essential to keep hydrated and bring water.

Can I do Hot Yoga?  

Hot Yoga is an all levels class, meaning it is suitable for beginners, however the class is heated to up to 38 degrees celsius so please use your own judgement on whether this class would be appropriate for you.

If you suffer from the following conditions you will need a written permission form from your GP; diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, eating disorder, history of heart related illnesses, and some medications which could potentially interfere with the body’s heat regulation system.

You must be well hydrated the day before, avoid drinking lots of water before class, this will sit in the body for at least an hour making the practice uncomfortable.

 

Do you have childcare facilities?

We do not provide childcare facilities at Calm Collective and we are unable to look after your child while you are in a class.

What if I change my mind on a product? If you change your mind and wish to get a refund on your items you must do so within 10 days of purchase. You cannot get a refund on a membership. You cannot get a refund on products you have already used. You cannot get a refund on classes you have cancelled.
I want to cancel my membership. If you wish to cancel your membership you must do so after the initial period of 3 months, you cannot cancel before this time. To cancel, please email hello@calmcollective.com with 10 days’ notice
