Restorative Yoga is a gentle and deeply relaxing class that restores the nervous system by teaching the body how to tap into the relaxation response. This is a process of deconditioning the body and mind which has many layers and boundaries which is why restorative yoga typically only involves between 4 to 6 poses where you are supported by props that allow this process to happen. When we get to rest at this level consciously, unlike sleep, alpha and theta wave states are activated which are associated with deep relaxation and meditation.
What to Expect
The entire Universe, including us is made up of energy, all vibrating at its own resonant frequency, including your entire body, every organ, bone, tissue is in a state of vibration with its own resonance. Sound healing restores the correct vibratory resonance to the part of the body that is vibrating out of harmony to amplify the body’s own natural rhythm and healing.
Sound healing while in a restorative pose can be a powerful healing experience, aiding in the letting go process. Soothe to surrender slowly as various healing instruments and sound guide you into a state of bliss.
Supported poses for up to 20 minutes or more with a balance of sound and silence.
Please note this class is only scheduled bi-weekly.
